After a study of 10 years electrotechniek, started at Thales in 1984 as a motion control engineer for track-radars. The first couple of years a technical design job in the fire control segment of Thales. Then was asked to become project manager for new product developments of track radars. After some years and 6 new qualified products stepped over to the line management as a group leader system engineering. There real people management started. The next step was after the reorganization of Thales to an international system engineering department I became department manager system engineering of a group of system engineers in France and the Netherlands. Spend 7 years of traveling between Hengelo and Paris. We have solved the old competition between the two radar factories in one common radar architecture for all the new radars of both factories.
